Welcome: Zoe Slutzky

GreenBlue is pleased to announce that Zoe Slutzky has joined the team as a How2Recycle Project Associate with the Sustainable Packaging Coalition.

What inspired you to work in the sustainability field?

The varied real-life application of the basics of recycling and composting that I’ve observed have always had a lasting effect on me.  At my previous apartment I would regularly see food scraps in the common municipal recycling bin. Other times, I would find it interesting how many of the people I meet that do not recycle and/or don’t know how.  I knew I needed to make the leap into the sustainability space to help establish a common ground for the average person to understand and apply these concepts.

What do you hope to achieve at GreenBlue?

I hope to continue the impact that the How2Recycle labeling system has already had on the industry and products under its umbrella.  I appreciate the opportunity to influence Member Companies to employ the smartest design practices that influence where the packaging ultimately ends up (hopefully caught in a never-ending loop!).  I am confident that the How2Recycle label is one of the most clear and tangible ways to communicate recyclability to consumers and am thrilled to further this effort.

What do you like to do in your spare time?

I love taking every opportunity to get outside and visiting places with different terrain than what I’m used to in the Midwest.  I enjoy biking, rowing, photography, and baking.

Happiness is….

Being outside on the patio in the Summertime with family and friends.
