The Kraft Heinz Company, the fifth-largest food and beverage company in the world, is the newest member of the How2Recycle label program. How2Recycle members use the program’s standardized labeling system to tell consumers how to recycle different types of packaging. Kraft Heinz joins over 50 How2Recycle member companies that represent the entire packaging supply chain, from manufacturers to large retailers.
“Kraft Heinz is a leader in the food industry, which means their membership in How2Recycle will also make them a leader in communicating accurate, consistent recycling instructions to the public,” says Kelly Cramer, Senior Manager at Sustainable Packaging Coalition. “We are inspired a company that owns classic and beloved brands will empower consumers through our smart recycling labels.”
Initially, consumers will see the How2Recycle label on the Back to Nature family of products, Philadelphia Cream Cheese and Cracker Barrel Macaroni and Cheese brands.
“How2Recycle’s simple and concise on-pack recycling instructions make it easier for consumers to do what’s right for the environment and support the sustainable health of our planet,” said Michael Mullen, Senior Vice President of Corporate and Government Affairs, The Kraft Heinz Company.
Today’s consumers, and the companies they buy from, share a common goal in that they want to recycle. Companies interested in joining the growing How2Recycle program can visit www.how2recycle.info/how2join/ or contact how2recycle@greenblue.org
